The Kansas City Chiefs booked their berth in the AFC Championship Game for the seventh season running following their hard-fought 23-14 win over the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium in the divisional round of the playoffs. They will host the Buffalo Bills for a place in the Super Bowl this Sunday.

During their ongoing run of seven straight AFC Championship Game appearances, they have lost only twice at this stage of the campaign. Their first defeat came against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, who beat them 37-31 in an overtime thriller at Arrowhead Stadium during the 2019 season.

After the win, the seven-time Super Bowl champion posted an epic video of him and Rob Gronkowski shrugging as they walked to the team bus, seemingly alluding that the Patriots winning was inevitable. Brady picked rapper P Diddy's smash hit 'Bad Boy for Life' as the background score, specifically the line, "We ain't going nowhere," a clear message to his and the team's doubters.

The epic clip resurfaced on X and the retired quarterback couldn't help but reminisce about that incredible night in Kansas City. He quote-tweeted the clip and wrote:

"What a time🥹."

KC Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes's playoff record vs Tom Brady

Since that defeat against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have lost only two playoff games. They have made it to the Super Bowl four times in five years, winning it thrice.

One of those two losses came against Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55. The quarterback carved the Chiefs' defense, while Todd Bowles' defensive scheme completely stifled Kansas City's offense, as Tampa Bay handed them a 31-9 loss, the biggest playoff defeat of Patrick Mahomes' career.

The Chiefs quarterback is an absurd 16-3 in the playoffs. However, he's 0-2 against Brady. His only other defeat came against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2021 AFC Conference Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium. The visitors narrowly beat the home team 27-24 after overtime.

Had it not been for Brady, Mahomes on the Chiefs could have won five of the last six Super Bowls. Two more wins will see the Kansas City signal-caller become only the fourth quarterback after the Patriots icon, Joe Montana, and Terry Bradshaw to lead his team to four Lombardi Trophy wins.

However, he'll only be halfway to breaking the all-time record that Brady set at his expense in Super Bowl 55.
