There have been several tales of Tom Brady's prowess on and off the field. It takes a certain kind of almost maniacal dedication to the craft to make sure you go from the 199th overall pick in the draft to the greatest quarterback to ever grace the game.
We have more than enough evidence of the level of attention to detail in Brady's game, but to have first-hand knowledge of how he went about his business of conquering the league outlines just how hard the seven-time Super Bowl champion worked to ensure he would rest in the pantheon of the sport's greats on the throne, all by himself.
In an exclusive sneak peek of Vice's TV's 'Brady vs Belichick: The Verdict' shared with Sportskeeda, former New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel explained his Damascus moment with Brady's work ethic.

“I remember vividly one practice. We were supposed to have a little short motion but I forgot the motion," Cassel said in the clip. "But I come off the play action and I hit the crossing route I’m like ‘Yes! I hit the crossing route. Big game.’ I immediately come over and Tom’s like ‘Bro, you forgot the motion.’ I was like I know but I hit that crossing route, I’ll figure that motion.
"Tom’s like, ‘No, you don’t understand. You have to be perfect when you play this position. You can’t be the guy that makes mistakes, especially at the quarterback position, and then expect them to respect you when you are getting on them.
"I thought that was such an incredible piece of advice. It was like a lightbulb continued to go off in learning and understanding why he was who he was and why he had the success. It was because he never let the little details go by the wayside.”
Tom Brady bracing for fresh challenges in the NFL
Since conquering the sport, retiring, unretiring, and then retiring again, Brady has made sure he's not too far away from the National Football League. He is in the first year of his 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox to grace their broadcasting booth and will also call the Super Bowl in February at Caesars Superdome.
Brady has also been hands-on with the Las Vegas Raiders after purchasing 5% of the franchise last year. The Raiders are currently knee-deep in their search for a new head coach and general manager after parting ways with Tom Telesco and Antonio Pierce following the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season.
