Tom Brady was a part of several New England Patriots teams that dominated the NFL for several seasons and found ways to win even when things weren't going their way. The 2024 Kansas City Chiefs are very similar to those teams, as they've won several hard-fought games to boast an 11-1 record, including duels decided in the final seconds.
During Tuesday's edition of FS1's "The Herd," Brady compared the current Chiefs team to his old Patriots.
"I just think the Chiefs are so dangerous. Because if it's a one-score game in the fourth quarter and Patrick has the ball, he's incredible... So I think when they transition from really this great offensive team, and I would say when Patrick first started, they weren't as good on defense, now they have a tremendous defense."
He also found a key similarity between the Chiefs and the Patriots, particularly when it came to playoff time.

"They're going to be tough to beat in the playoffs. I don't care who they play, where they play. It's a lot like the teams that I played for at the Patriots, if you were going to beat us, man, you had to beat us. We weren't going to beat ourselves."
Tom Brady won six Super Bowls during his dynastic run with the Patriots. But for all their dominance, they never won three titles in a row.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls this season.
Tom Brady reacts to Texans linebacker hit on Trevor Lawrence
Besides talking about the Chiefs' abilities to win games, Tom Brady talked about one of the most controversial plays of Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season. Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair caused a concussion after a late hit on Trevor Lawrence, which sparked a big brawl between Texans and Jaguars players.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion touched on this situation, as well, saying that it's not fair to put all the blame or responsibility for taking care of the quarterback's safety on the defense, especially when QBs decide to run the ball.
Tom Brady recalled that it's important for playmakers to protect themselves while noting that defenders play hard all the time.
