Tom Brady had a prediction for how the UNC Tar Heels would fare under former Patriots coach Bill Belichick after it was confirmed that the six-time Super Bowl winner had taken over the college job. The quarterback and head coach were at the center of the New England dynasty that won six championships together.
Beyond their exemplary performance on the field, the franchise was known for inculcating discipline and accountability throughout their ranks. It was known as the 'Patriots Way', where the team was always paramount. Given Bill Belichick was responsible for setting that culture, Tom Brady feels his old head coach will create a 'Tar Heel Way' too. Writing on Instagram, the quarterback posted,
"The Tar Heel way is about to become a thing (100 percent emoji)"
He also topped it with congratulations to his old boss for his new job.

Tom Brady previously could not imagine Bill Belichick as UNC Tar Heels HC
Before his kind comments on Bill Belichick's new gig, Tom Brady had said that he could not imagine the legendary NFL coach taking on a college job. The quarterback had said that going on the recruiting trail and dealing with college kids instead of professional athletes might be tough for his old boss, noting,
“There’s a lot of things he can do, and obviously he’s tremendous, and even showing his personality. But getting out there on the recruiting trail and dealing with all these college kids, that would be… (left unsaid)”
Bill Belichick, however, thinks he can succeed at that level. Even though he has never coached in college, his father used to be an assistant coach for the UNC Tar Heels in the 1950s. He has previously commented on The Pat McAfee Show about how he would mimic an NFL program at the college level to give student-athletes the best chance of success later in their careers, stating,
“[If] I was in a college program, the college program would be a pipeline to the NFL for the players who had the ability to play in the NFL. It would be a professional program... Training, nutrition, scheme, coaching, techniques, that would transfer to the NFL. It would be an NFL program at a college level, and an education that would get players ready for their career after football."
Now, he gets to implement his vision with the UNC Tar Heels with Tom Brady's public encouragement there for all to see.
