Among the slew of ventures Tom Brady is a part of, his joining the Las Vegas Raiders' ownership group was probably the most surprising. The seven-time Super Bowl champion had no association with the franchise nor was he a close friend of team owner Mark Davis.
However, they forged a relationship after Brady bought a stake in the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces, another franchise Davis owns. Soon after, he became a part owner of the Raiders. Joining the ownership group also shut the door on him unretiring for a second time, but he has no qualms about it.
During his conversation with golfer Bryson DeChambeau, the seven-time Super Bowl champion revealed becoming a team owner was one of the most exciting opportunities he has ever had. Brady said:
"(Being a part owner of the Raiders) is amazing. When I retired a lot of great things kind of came at me and (to) have the opportunity to buy part of an NFL franchise has been a dream come true. I get to be involved in the NFL for as long as I’m around, basically, because of ownership." [From 39:44]

Tom Brady unbothered about Raiders ownership's effect on broadcasting career
Before his final season in the league in 2022, Tom Brady had signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports to become their lead analyst. The network expected him to be "unapologetically brash, extremely insightful" and lend his credibility to their broadcasts.
However, joining the Raiders' ownership group meant that he could no longer attend other teams' practices, sit in production meetings, interview players and criticize the officiating crew.
Despite the limitations, Tom Brady has no regrets. As much as he enjoys being a broadcaster, he believes the opportunity to be an owner is far more valuable than being an analyst. He said:
"Being a broadcaster has been amazing, but also knowing beyond that, I get to be involved in the sport I love for the rest of my life and try to impact the game in a positive way and call out what I like, what I don’t like and sports brings all everyone together." [From 39:58]
Tom Brady has seemingly made turning the Raiders' fortunes around his top priority. At $6.7 billion, the franchise is the seventh-most valuable in the NFL.
However, that hasn't translated to success on the field. They have made the playoffs only twice in the last 21 seasons. They are on track to finish with the worst record in the league this season and pick first in the 2025 NFL draft.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner has the opportunity to shape the franchise's future to his liking and add another ring to his collection as an owner, which would only further his legacy.
