"Gronk would be really good” – Tom Brady reveals he has a plan for Rob Gronkowski after latest investment

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski were teammates for 11 seasons, winning four Super Bowls during their time with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gronkowski, of course, retired this offseason in June after 11 seasons in the league.

The Buccaneers quarterback, however, now wants the All-Pro tight end back as a teammate, albeit in a different capacity.

Brady spoke to the media as he prepared for Week 6 of the NFL season and talked about his recent business undertaking: investing in Major League Pickleball.

As he discussed his new venture, the three-time NFL MVP was asked by reporters which of his current teammates would make his pickleball team.

The 45-year-old's first response was: "Mike would be really good," referring to wide receiver Mike Evans. The quarterback then added: "Gronk would be really good too," but noted that he's not on the Tampa Bay roster.

Previously, Gronkowski came out of retirement to play with his former New England teammate on the Buccaneers in April 2020. However, Brady couldn't lure his friend back for the 2022 season.

The pair started out as teammates when the Patriots drafted Gronkowski in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

In their nine seasons together in New England, Gronkowski made the Pro Bowl five times and was a two-time All-Pro.

He also had four seasons of over 1,000+ yards receiving and led the league in touchdowns with 17 in 2011.

The quarterback won two MVP awards, made the Pro Bowl nine times, and was a two-time All-Pro in their nine seasons together.

Needless to say, Gronkowski could well come out of retirement for pickleball. If history is anything to go by, the pair will likely win another championship together.
