Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs punched their ticket to the Super Bowl after beating the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC championship game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. While the Chiefs got the win, many believed that the referees favored them with some questionable calls.
Tom Brady's former Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammate Antonio Brown took the opportunity to endorse the NFL referees favoring Mahomes. Brown suggested that they had a similar partiality toward Brady when the quarterback built a dynasty with the New England Patriots.
Brown responded to Dave Portney's post which showed the video of what looked like two incorrect calls made against the Bills in the fourth quarter.
"Brady Patriots All Over Again #CTESPN," Brown tweeted.

Portney was referring to a couple of plays during the Bills' third-and-3 situation with 13:23 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Buffalo QB Josh Allen passed the ball to tight end Dalton Kincaid, who ran to get a first down, but the officials called it a full yard shy of the 40-yard target line.
On the following play, Allen looked to sneak the ball over the line and was met with several tackles. While it appeared the Bills quarterback had crossed the target line on the fourth down, the referees marked Allen short, even after a review of the play.
The two questionable calls cost the Bills, who were leading 22-21 at the time. The Chiefs eventually turned the game around later in the fourth quarter to book a spot in the Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, Brown felt that the Chiefs were getting advantageous calls, similar to what the Patriots had when they won six Super Bowls from 2001 to 2019 with Brady as their QB.
Brady went on to win another Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021 when Brown was his teammate.
Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs set up Super Bowl matchup vs Philadelphia Eagles
Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl on Feb. 9. The big game will be held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Eagles have been flying in the postseason after clinching the NFC East. Nick Sirianni's team beat the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round and got the better of the LA Rams in the divisional round. Philadelphia confirmed its spot in the Super Bowl when it defeated the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC championship game on Sunday.
While Patrick Mahomes and Co. are chasing a historic three-peat of Super Bowls, they know that the Eagles possess a unique threat. Moreover, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will want to avenge the defeat they suffered at the hands of Kansas City in the big game in 2023.
