Tom Brady discusses admiration for Massachusetts in GQ interview

It is no secret that Tom Brady is a legend in New England, Massachusetts in particular. His no. 12 has been retired by the Patriots, and owner Robert Kraft waived the usual four-year waiting period and usual balloting measures for his induction into the franchise's Hall of Fame.

He also has fond memories of living in the region, as he relayed to GQ's Matthew Roberson in a one-on-one interview:

"The culture is great, and I could talk about places, but to me it’s all people. I have so many memories of people here who impacted my life in the best way. My kids were born on Beacon Street. Every time I drive by and see the building I’m like, My kids were born there."

He continued:

"If there’s one thing about Boston, the community here is really amazing for families. It’s a close-knit community. Everyone thinks Boston is this big, massive city. It’s a town. You can develop a lot of close relationships, and I did that over two decades of living here. It was a big, impactful part of my life.”

He also discussed his travel history in that same interview, revealing that he had gone to Japan twice, among other things. When asked about his wishlist of places that he wanted to visit for the first time or again after a long time, he said:

"I want to go to India. I want to go to the Netherlands, and I want to go to Morocco. There’s a lot of places. I love Switzerland, would love to go back there. Places like that, where I’ve only been once."

Brady will be calling the Pittsburgh Steelers-Baltimore Ravens game this Saturday. Kickoff is at 4:30 PM ET.
