NFL legend Tom Brady joined the Fox NFL Sunday crew on Monday, Nov 11 to offer his take on the latest stunt of his longtime former teammate and close friend, Rob Gronkowski.
Gronkowski had been the center of attention a day earlier as part of Fox's Veterans Day programming, doing a 90-foot jump from a helicopter into the Pacific Ocean at Naval Base San Diego. But when Brady took the Fox set, he couldn't resist poking a bit of fun at Gronk's exploits.
"That looked like about 9 feet actually... By the way, there was a very big splash. You wouldn't have been an Olympic diver at that point, like a 1.2 at the Olympics in Paris this last year."

On the field, Brady and Gronkowski formed one of the most prolific quarterback-tight end duos in NFL history. In their time together, they connected for 90 touchdowns, the most by any QB-TE pairing. Gronkowski's size, speed, and athleticism combined with Brady's pinpoint accuracy and anticipation allowed the pair to carve up secondaries with ease.
Gronkowski, never one to shy away from the spotlight, embraced Brady's criticism with humor.
"But that's all right. I got it done. Man, it's never pretty, but I always get it done."
Brady's comments add intrigue to Gronk's post-retirement stunts
Brady's joshing of Gronkowski is just the latest chapter in the retired tight end's growing reputation as a stuntman in retirement. In 2021, Gronkowski set a Guinness World Record by catching a football dropped more than 600 feet from a helicopter during a visit to his alma mater, the University of Arizona.
A 90-foot jump from a helicopter into the ocean is the latest example of Gronkowski embracing his adventurous spirit. Gronkowski also took to the skies in 2023, skydiving from 11,000 feet during Fox's Veterans Day special at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
In many ways, Gronkowski's daredevil stunts are a perfect extension of the player fans came to know and love - a blend of athleticism, showmanship, and a deep reverence for the military.
