Tom Brady to walk out on Tampa Bay, says NFL analyst

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom after losing to the Carolina Panthers in Week 7 of the 2022-2023 season

Tom Brady sought success with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2022-23 season, but he is starting to fail at every turn. The Buccaneers were defeated by the Carolina Panthers 21-3 on the road in Week 7.

With the Buccaneers at 3-4 this season, one NFL analyst says the starting quarterback will leave the team. On his show, Kyle Brandt's Basement, Kyle Brandt explained that Brady won't finish the 2022-23 NFL season with the Bucs.

"My prediction was that Brady was going to retire in the middle of the season. Just the middle of the season. Just make this crazy press conference and just say personal reasons and I'll address it more in the future. But as of right now, I need to step away from football. I will stick to it. I know he joked about it last week and he didn't really joke about it."

Brandt added:

"He actually was asked point blank, like, ‘Tom, you look miserable, the team sucks, you don't look great. There's rumors swirling. No one looks happy. This couldn't possibly be what he signed up for. This couldn't possibly be what he wanted to come out of retirement for. Any chance you just walk away.’
"He said no in his own kind of Tom Brady way. ‘"There'll be no retirement.’ I mean, they just lost to P.J. Walker. What's going on? Awful."

The seven-time Super Bowl winner initially retired this offseason, only to announce his return 40 days later.

Why Tom Brady might not finish this season with the Buccaneers

The 45-year-old has shown that his patience isn't what it once was. During the season, we've seen the three-time NFL MVP slam a tablet and yell at teammates on two different occasions.

The incident involving the tablet took place in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. He yelled at his offensive line during their Week 6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

So far in the 2022-23 season, he's thrown for 1,942 yards, eight touchdowns, and an interception. While the production is still there, some feel the quarterback is slowing down.

Overall, could this be the lowest point of his two-and-a-half seasons with the Buccaneers? Let's see if Brady sticks around for the rest of the season and leads the Bucs to the playoffs.
