Former USC offensive lineman Andrew Vorhees arrived at the NFL Combine as one of the top 100 prospects in this year's draft. But on Sunday afternoon, while partaking in drills at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, he suffered a serious knee injury that could have implications on his draft selection.
Vorhees started 37 games during his tenure with the USC Trojans, with 25 of those coming at the right guard position. He can also play left guard and left tackle, making him a versatile option on the offensive line.
With many NFL teams looking for help on the offensive line, and not many options at guard available, Vorhees was considered a top option. Especially after the protection he helped give Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams in 2022. The five-year starter's performance on the offensive line last season led to him being named an All-American.

After suffering the knee injury, his status for the 2023 season is up in the air. As is the possibility of him hearing his name called during the 2023 NFL Draft.
What happened to Andrew Vorhees?
While performing routine drills at the NFL Combine on Sunday afternoon, Andrew Vorhees suffered a knee injury. On Monday morning, it was reported that Vorhees likely tore his ACL.
Suffering a torn ACL that will require surgical repairs as well as extensive rehabilitation will more than likely cost the right guard his entire rookie season. A devastating turn of events for the NFL hopeful.
After suffering the injury on Sunday, the former USC Trojans offensive lineman arrived back at Lucas Oil Stadium on Monday morning. Even with a serious knee injury, he showed up to do the bench press with the other offensive lineman in attendance.
He successfully completed 38 reps at 225 pounds. Doing so with just one leg firmly planted on the ground. Which happens to be the most reps at the NFL combine this year.
He spent six years with the USC Trojans after being granted the extra year of eligibility that NCAA players were offered. He started five seasons and was one of the most dependable aspects of the offensive line. He also suffered a knee injury in 2018 when he tore his meniscus and then had to undergo foot surgery in 2019, both of which cost him time on the field.
It remains to be seen whether the multiple injuries, which include this current ACL tear, will cost him a draft pick or if the team will take a chance and wait for him to be ready.
