All eyes were on Colorado last year when Deion Sanders came to town but two of his standout players - Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter - were also in the headlines week in and week out. On Thursday night, it was business as usual for Sanders and Hunter, who picked up right where they left off, leading Colorado to a 31-26 win over North Dakota State.
While Sanders rightly garnered praise after throwing for 445 yards and four TDs, several NFL athletes also made it a point to remark at Travis Hunter's impressive evening. The Colorado WR ended the night with seven receptions for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill was so impressed with Hunter, he urged NFL teams to make him the number one overall pick next April.
"Whoever got that first pick, idc if you need a lineman or [a] QB, Travis Hunter is one of one," Hill tweeted after the game.

Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II was also pretty impressed with Hunter on Thursday night.
"Travis is one of one, never seen anything like it," Surtain wrote on X.
And that's not all. NBA icon LeBron James also tuned into the Colorado-North Dakota State game. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar tweeted:
"Shedeur to Hunter for 6! Going to be seeing and hearing that a lot this season I bet!"
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Where could Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders land?
We're still in Week 1 of the College Football season but if Sanders and Hunter continue producing numbers at this rate, they could cement themselves as top-10 picks well before draft season rolls around, but the question is, where could the two Colorado stars land?
There were some rumors about the Dallas Cowboys being interested in bringing Deion Sanders to town and having Shedeur Sanders accompany him in the draft. That is likely to be a pipe dream since the Cowboys are primed to have a winning season and potentially make a run in the playoffs.
When it comes to Shedeur Sanders, a safer bet could be the Las Vegas Raiders. Head coach Antonio Pierce named Gardner Minshew the starting quarterback over Aidan O'Connell but neither appear to be the franchise's QB of the future.
Our NFL Playoff Predictor sees the Raiders end up with the 20th overall pick, though things could escalate as the season goes on. The Giants could also be in play for Shedeur Sanders if Daniel Jones ends up falling short of expectations this year.
When it comes to Travis Hunter, the most intriguing fit could be with the New England Patriots. Head coach Jerod Mayo has Jacoby Brissett listed as QB1 on the Patriots depth chart but the plan appears to be to have Drake Maye as the starter in his second year in the league. Adding Hunter to the mix in the 2025 NFL Draft would give the Patriots a deeply impressive foundation to build on, provided they find value with their OL picks either in free agency or in later rounds in the draft.
