Travis Kelce explains Taylor Swift's stance on Chiefs TE's potential NFL retirement

There's been constant chatter about Travis Kelce's eventual retirement from the NFL. Some are looking at the 35-year-old TE's exit to work in entertainment, especially after Kelce's role in the show Grotesquerie.

While Travis Kelce admits to struggling on the field, he might have a few years left in him before retirement. In an interview with Stephen A. Smith on Wednesday, Kelce opened up about his view on retirement, including what his girlfriend Taylor Swift feels about it.

Stephen A. Smith asked Kelce about Swift's view, the three-time Super Bowl champion sharing that she has been incredibly supportive.

"She's fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game. She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the games and cheering for me. I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams." [45:09 mark].

Swift, who has been dating Kelce for over a year, has been to multiple NFL games since September 2023. This includes the playoffs and the Chiefs' 2024 Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers.

Kelce also discussed his personal views on retirement:

"It changes every single day man. I love everything that I'm doing in this building. But at the end of the day, I'm not having that extreme success on the field as I have individually man. I'm excited for these next couple games to play up at Arrowhead, to finish this season off."

Travis Kelce doesn't 'chime in' during Taylor Swift's creative process

Spending a lot of time with Taylor Swift also gives Kelce a look into her creative process. While on Pat McAfee's show on Monday, Kelce spoke about Swift's creative side, and how he doesn't interfere with what's going on if inspiration strikes.

"I’ll never chime in. But I’m here to support it. I’m here to see where it can go."

Kelce also confirmed her attendance for the Chiefs' divisional round game against the Houston Texans. In fact, the TE is promising a similar vibe to the 2024 postseason.

"Oh yeah, you know it, baby. It’s playoff football, man.”

Furthermore, Travis Kelce hinted that Swift might also be gearing up to drop some new music. The Blank Space singer wrapped up her Eras Tour in 2024, Kelce himself attending multiple shows around the world.
