Travis Kelce's ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole backs TE, Chiefs as team heads to 7th straight AFC Championship

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are heading back to the AFC championship game and will take on Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills on Sunday. With it being their seventh straight AFC title showdown, the Chiefs are inching closer to a historic Super Bowl three-peat. While some NFL fans are doubtful of the Chiefs and their ability, many are ready to back the Patrick Mahomes-led roster.

Tight end Kelce's ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, was asked about the Chiefs' AFC title game on the "I Am Athlete" podcast on Tuesday. Nicole praised the team's offense and Kelce, making her take on the team's success clear.

"They have guys they can throw the ball to who aren't going to drop the ball in the end zone," Nicole said. "Travis Kelce — that's a tight end that's not gonna do it. They’ve got the threats, so, as much as I'd love to see somebody else in the Super Bowl, just to see something new, it's not gonna happen."

Kelce and Nicole dated from 2017 to 2022. They even parted ways for a short while before getting back together. The pair separated in 2022, a year before Kelce began dating pop star Taylor Swift in 2023.

Kayla Nicole, who was also friends with Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, often attended Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer for the tight end.

Kayla Nicole has previously spoken about online chaos she faced after breaking up with Travis Kelce

While on Angel Reese's podcast in October, Kayla Nicole spoke about her breakup with Kelce. She said the comments she received afterward weren't easy to deal with, as some were extremely intrusive and insulting.

“I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and online chaos doesn’t impact me, because it does, even to this day,” Nicole said. “You can go to my most recent post, and there will be people debating each other why I’m worthless and I’ll never be a talented person and I have no career.”

Speaking of the hate, she added:

"It has nothing to do with me. I think that there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people. It’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash."

Nicole has also spoken about her friendship with others from the NFL community, which only deteriorated after her breakup. Despite the online backlash and broken links, Nicole has maintained there are no ill feelings toward anyone involved.
