Kevin Stefanski isn't happy with Myles Garrett's statement

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has responded to Myles Garrett's comments regarding wasting the team's defensive talent. The Browns currently sit third in the AFC North with a 3-7 record after a 31-23 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Garrett spoke post-game and made it a point to say that the team can't waste the talent that is in its prime right now. The Browns' defense hasn't gotten a takeaway in three games and only has one win from their last six.

Head coach Stefanski spoke about Garrett's comments and it does feel like there is a little trouble brewing in Cleveland.

"Myles speaks for Myles. I'll talk to him about it. We put a lot of emphasis in our building on takeaways. We haven't gotten them."

Stefanski is right. The defense hasn't gotten takeaways but has also given up over 30 points in back-to-back games. That isn't a winning formula.

Browns season over with Deshaun Watson due back soon

Prior to the start of the season, many had Super Bowl aspirations for Cleveland. With the acquisition of Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans, the sky was the limit.

However, we know that Watson's 11-game suspension essentially ended that dream before it even began. Now, with Jacoby Brissett, who has done his best, the team has just three wins from 10 games.

What is interesting is that out of the seven losses, five have been by a single score. So, had the football bounced there way once or twice, things could have been vastly different.

Garrett's comments are certainly a little alarming, but the Browns' defense is one of the worst in the league. Per Pro Football Reference, Cleveland gives up an average of 26.9 points per game, ranking them 30th out of 32 teams. That is not good.

Whether or not things will change with Watson under center remains to be seen as it will take the former Texan time to get used to the rigors of NFL football again. With Brissett, Cleveland have been serviceable, but at the end of the day, it's a win/loss league and the team has not won enough games.

Sitting at 3-7 is not what anyone in the organization would have envisaged. But Garrett's comments feel like the frustration of letting yet another season go by without taking advantage of the team's talent.
