Rookie safety Tyler Nubin will make his NFL debut on Sunday afternoon. As the New York Giants prepare to face the Minnesota Vikings, Nubin will have the support of his fiancee Farah Alkurdy, cheering him on from the stands.

On Saturday night, Alkurdy shared an Instagram story, which featured a photo of herself and Nubin. In the caption, she expressed her pride in all that Nubin has accomplished.

"Feeling real proud of my baby the night before he plays in his first NFL game. The only person I know who goes and gets literally every dream he ever thinks up. Can't wait to watch you do it again this season. Got your back every step of the way. U lead, I follow. Xoxo, your #1 fan."

Tyler Nubin has high expectations for his NFL debut

Tyler Nubin was the first safety selected in the 2024 NFL Draft when the New York Giants picked him at number 47. The former Minnesota Gophers defensive standout is eager to make an impact when he takes the field in Week 1 against the Vikings.

Just days before his first NFL game, he told reporters about his mindset and the way he plays, noting that he holds himself to high standards every time he steps onto the field.

“I don’t back down from anybody. I put myself to a high standard. I hold myself to a higher standard than anybody else around me can hold me to. Having that standard for myself, having that expectation for myself, just elevates me and elevates everybody else. There’s nothing that anybody can expect from me that I don’t already expect of myself,” Nubin said via USA Today.

The New York Giants are hopeful that Nubin will be the spark in the secondary that they need. After making the playoffs in Brian Daboll's first season as head coach in 2022, New York was just 6-11 in 2023.
