Tyreek Hill gives credit where credit is due as Team Japan bulldozes through Team USA at U20 Tackle Football World Championship

Even during the NFL offseason, wide receiver Tyreek Hill makes time to watch football. However, Team USA didn't give Hill and other Americans much to watch as they suffered a big loss to Team Japan in the U20 Tackle Football World Championship.

Team USA has won three consecutive titles in the championship but, on Wednesday, there was no coming back from an early 20-0 lead by Japan. The USA eventually lost the game 41-20. Hill graciously praised Japan's players, in a post on X.

"Team Japan got some athletes."

The International Federation of American Football hosts the U20 World Championships every year. There are current active NFL players who have represented the United States in the championship.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett and Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mac Jones have represented Team USA at the event. So have Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman and Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.

WR Tyreek Hill could represent Team USA in the 2028 Olympics

The United States will host the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028. This will be the first time the Summer Games will be hosted in the United States since 1996, when the Games took place in Atlanta.

In the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, flag football will also make its Olympic debut. When the announcement was made last year, NFL players from around the league said they wanted to participate. Tyreek Hill was one of the NFL players who vowed that he wanted a spot on Team USA.

"You know how amazing it would be to assemble a superteam to play in the Olympics? That would be crazy. To be able to go to the Olympics and actually win a medal,"-Tyreek Hill via 'It Needed to Be Said' podcast.

While it's still unclear how the flag football team roster will be assembled, NFL executive Troy Vincent said that the league is likely to allow for players to participate.

"we believe that will take place."

The NFL and the players have four years to develop the logistics of how training camp and the 2028 Olympic Games will take place simultaneously.
