According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Dolphins waived Odell Beckham Jr. on Friday. He added that the veteran WR is "hoping for more opportunities elsewhere."

Week 15 kicked off with the Los Angeles Rams taking on the San Francisco 49ers in what was a pretty stale Thursday Night Football showdown. While entertainment was hard to come by at Levi's Stadium, the Miami Dolphins chose to make some headlines on Friday morning.

The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver managed just nine catches for 55 yards on 18 targets with no touchdowns to show for the season. In the aftermath of OBJ's release, his ex-teammate Tyreek Hill tweeted a cryptic message.

"Take advantage of your opportunity," Hill wrote on social media platform X.

After a brief stint with the Baltimore Ravens last season, Beckham Jr. signed with Miami this summer on a one-year deal worth $3 million. The idea was that he would serve as WR3 behind Hill and Jaylen Waddle, though that did not come to pass.

Odell Beckham Jr. was handed an early setback which meant he had to start the season on the physically unable to perform list. The Dolphins activated him to the roster in early October though he failed to register a catch in his first three games. All in all, OBJ suited up for 33 snaps during his tenure in Miami. Per NFL, he is owed $200,000 for the remainder of his one-year deal.

Exploring potential Odell Beckham Jr. landing spots

Two teams that could make for plausible landing spots right off the bat are OBJ's former teams - the LA Rams and Baltimore Ravens.

After a Week 15 win over the Niners, the Rams have marginally improved their playoff chances but could still need some depth if they are looking to compete while playing meaningful football in January.

The Ravens, meanwhile, are facing some issues with Diontae Johnson who was traded from the Panthers. The Ravens also handed him a one-game suspension and could be on the lookout to add to their receiver depth.

Destinations like the Washington Commanders, Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have also been thrown around by fans since news of Odell Beckham Jr.'s release became public.
