Tyreek Hill takes strong 6-word stance as Patrick Mahomes books Chiefs' 3rd-straight Super Bowl trip

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs booked a trip to the Super Bowl for the third successive season after beating the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC championship game on Sunday night. Mahomes was the star of the show, throwing for 245 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for two touchdowns.

Many jumped on the bandwagon to congratulate Mahomes for his performance, with his former teammates, Khalen Saunders and Tyreek Hill, dropping bold statements. When Saunders tweeted about Mahomes' brilliance on Sunday, Hill responded to the post with a six-word message.

"Man the goat of our era," Hill tweeted in response to Saunders' post calling Mahomes "Goatrick Mahomes."

Mahomes, a first-round pick in 2017, has led the Chiefs to three Super Bowl titles. He is now on course to make history if the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles in this season's big game.

Hill, who played with the Chiefs from 2016 to 2021 before joining the Dolphins, won the Super Bowl with Kansas City in 2020.

Meanwhile, Saunders played for the Chiefs from 2019 to 2022 and won two Super Bowls before joining the New Orleans Saints.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will have a unique challenge when they face the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 9. They are aiming to win their third successive Super Bowl.

Philly has been dominant on the offensive front in the postseason. The Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers 22-10 in the wild-card round and took down the LA Rams 28-22 in the divisional round before crushing the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC championship game on Sunday.

The Eagles have a superstar quarterback in Jalen Hurts, who is equally effective as a passer and a runner. Furthermore, running back Saquon Barkley has been a revelation for Philly in his first season with the team.

If Mahomes and the Chiefs are to retain the Super Bowl for the third time in a row, they will need to keep Philly's offense in check.

Notably, Hurts and Mahomes met in the 2023 Super Bowl, when the Chiefs emerged as winners by a score of 38-35. This time around, Philly will be out for revenge.
