Aaron Rodgers may be seeing history repeat itself. He sat behind Brett Favre on the bench in Green Bay, then became the starter just as the future Hall of Famer was traded to the New York Jets. Some years later, Jordan Love sat behind him on the bench, then became the starter just as the four-time MVP was himself traded to that same team.

After a single season in East Rutherford, Favre joined the Minnesota Vikings. Now, as Rodgers ponders his future after his miserable stint in Gang Green, some fans want him to complete the journey by joining the Vikings:

"Fulfill the prophecy!"

More of the excitement can be seen below:

"Please do it Aaron!" one begged.
"Yep it is happening," another guaranteed.
"I want this more than anything," another salivated.

Could Mike McCarthy reunion be enough to keep Aaron Rodgers in Jets?

On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys were revealed to have declined to extend erstwhile-head coach Mike McCarthy, making him a free agent. Multiple teams would be looking to hire him, but FanSided's Wynston Wilcox believes hiring him might be what entices Aaron Rodgers to remain a Jet:

"(Owner Woody) Johnson seems like the only owner in all of football who would be foolish enough to think this would produce results even remotely close enough to end the Jets’ playoff woes. Then again, that’s exactly why it could be a genius move."

The team already has wide receiver Davante Adams, a former fellow Packer. But at the same time, he also feels that a mini-reunion is highly improbable:

"If he couldn’t get a deal done with Jones to stay in Dallas, that means he wants to go somewhere he can build. Somewhere with good bones to put together into a contending piece. That ain’t New York."

But should McCarthy somehow be accepted to the job, he will inherit not just those two players, but a whole host of potential contributors who have chafed under inconsistent coaching by Robert Saleh and Jeff Ulbrich, like Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, Quinnen Williams, Will McDonald IV, and Sauce Gardner.

Wilcox believes that the Jacksonville Jaguars would be a better fit. The franchise is coming off firing Doug Pederson and has a strong roster that boasts the likes of Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr., Josh-HInes-Allen and Travon Walker.
