Von Miller expresses frustration over criticism following injury-plagued season with Bills: "It's making me a little bit angry"

While Buffalo Bills edge rusher Von Miller may not be what he was once early on in his career, his last season with the Bills was quite unproductive. In 12 total games played and 298 total snaps played, Miller only recorded three combined stats. He didn't have a single sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, interception, pass deflection, or any other major stat.

Miller started the 2023 season on the PUP list, before being activated on Oct. 7. While he was recovering from an ACL tear from the season before, Miller told SI Sports that he shouldn't have been playing last season while hurt. Still, he couldn't let his teammates down, which led to him underperforming on the field.

Eager to prove doubters wrong, Miller said that he is playing more 'angrily' over criticism from last season.

"My biggest individual goal is just getting back to playing my style of football. It’s crazy how you get injured, and you come back, and you really shouldn’t have even been playing, and people judge you by a product on the field. I could have easily sat out all of last season, but I couldn’t do my teammates like that."

"I felt like being later in my career, I didn’t want to sacrifice any of my years. But at the same time, I shouldn’t have been out there. I feel like people are judging me on that, so it’s making me a little bit angry, to be honest."

Von Miller is confident that the Buffalo Bills can win the Super Bowl this year

Speaking in the same interview with SI Sports, Von Miller is confident in the Buffalo Bills' ability to make it to the Super Bowl.

Miller said that he's going to do whatever it takes this season to help deliver a Super Bowl to Buffalo because the team and fans deserve it.

“The biggest team goal is bringing the first Super Bowl to Buffalo. Everyone feels like they deserve it, and they work hard, but Buffalo Bills fans and Western New York they deserve it, man. They do so much for our community and our football team. These guys deserve it, and I’m going to do everything in my power to give it to them.”

Von Miller knows a thing or two about Super Bowls, he's only won two of them.

Miller has won a Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Rams and will look to win his third with his third different team this season.
