Was OJ Simpson framed? New book suggests former NFL star was set up

It's not possible to get through NFL history without touching upon OJ Simpson and his infamous murder trial. The incident shocked the sports world, with the alleged murder accusation gaining global attention. Years later, people continue to discuss the case, debating over various aspects.

That being said, there might be some stones left unturned even today. A new book suggests, OJ Simpson might have been framed. Apparently, the new theory suggests that the whole thing could have been a plan to acquire Simpson's property.

The case dates back to 1994, when Simpson was blamed for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman. This recent book suggests that Brown's parents and siblings were behind the whole plot, planning everything in advance.

The book, The Sealed Envelope: Who Framed OJ Simpson for Their Murders, How They Did It and Why They Got Away With It, by Sheryll and Shatelaine Shipley offers up a completely different perspective on the matter.

The family apparently wanted to keep the house Simpson owned, and a murder trial probably seemed to be an effective method to do so. Their problems arose when Simpson apparently planned to sell the house Brown was living in. They did try to reconcile, but failed.

If he was found guilty for murder, they wouldn't have to leave the house, which was owned by the former NFL player. Furthermore, the Shipleys claim that after Brown's divorce, the family was struggling financially. After all, Simpson was the one providing for Nicole and her family.

OJ Simpson already wrote his own retelling of Brown's murder

In 2007, Simpson published 'If I Did It', where he wrote a supposedly hypothetical account of how he would have gone about committing the crime. Interestingly, Goldman's family petitioned to receive the proceeds from the book as a result of damages caused by the murder trial.

However, the 2007 book is just as controversial. Apparently, screenwriter Pablo Fenjves ghostwrote the book, but Simpson agreed to only have his name lent to it.

Considering the fact that it was ghost-written, it might not provide a proper account of Simpson's perspective. The Goldman family also altered the title, adding a subtitle called 'Confessions of the Killer'. They even made the 'If' at the beginning extremely small, giving a wrapped perspective at first glance.

On his end, Simpson wrote the book 'I Want to Tell You: My Response to Your Letters, Your Messages, Your Questions', published in 1995. It provides a more direct approach, which he penned when he was awaiting criminal trial.

In the book, OJ Simpson claimed his innocence. Despite multiple sources and materials being available, Simpson's actual point of view might still be a mystery.
