According to Terrell Davis's Instagram post, which elaborates on the incident, he was asking the flight attendant for some ice for his son. After being ignored, Davis "lightly tapped" him. Instead of replying, the crew member shouted, "Don't hit me," and ran to the plane's front.
Davis found the reaction "rude" but ignored it. However, it came as a shock to him when FBI agents approached and handcuffed him. Per Davis, there were a total of six FBI agents who took him for questioning.
The Broncos legend was released the same day of his arrest after the FBI found him not guilty of any misbehavior. In his Instagram post, Davis recalled how the agents "rightfully determined" that the crew members' accusations were wrong and apologized to him for the inconvenience.
The agents also ensured complete support to his family and him. Terrell Davis was present with his wife and kids during the flight. The incident took a toll on the family members, and Tamiko shared her emotional state on Good Morning America.
Terrell Davis's wife Tamiko recalls feeling helpless over United flight incident
Last week, Terrell Davis and wife Tamiko appeared on Good Morning America to talk about what actually went on behind the scenes in the United fight incident. Tamiko, who got emotional while recalling feeling helpless about the situation, said:
“I thought it was a joke because what else could it be? I saw the agents come on, so, of course, it caught my attention like everyone else. And they just walked straight up to Terrell. So I jumped out of my seat, and I said, ‘Wait a minute, what’s going on?’ I hopped over to the woman next to me, and I said to Terrell, ‘Are you joking?’” (Timestamp - 4:38)
"I’m looking at my sons who are sitting right next to him, watching their dad being handcuffed. And what could we do? And I’m asking them what is going on. Why are you doing this? No one helped me. We were just left to fend for ourselves on the flight while everyone’s staring at us," she concluded. (Timestamp - 5:17)
In the same interview, Terrell Davis expressed his desire for United to take responsibility for the incident. Davis said he felt humiliated and embarrassed and now wants the airline to be held accountable. As for United, no official apology or statement has been released.
