Despite the Detroit Lions maintaining dominance over the Chicago Bears in a 34-17 win on Sunday, Chicago rookie quarterback Caleb Williams showed off his flair. After delivering a touchdown pass while his team trailed by 14 points, he performed Cristiano Ronaldo's signature “Siuuuu” celebration.

On Sunday afternoon, Detroit (13-2) completed the season sweep of its NFC North rival. Meanwhile, the Bears (4-11) had their losing streak stretch to nine games.

Looking back, Caleb Williams' NFL debut was historic. He became the first rookie quarterback since 2002 to win a season opener. In Week 3, Williams pulled off 363 passing yards to set a Bears’ rookie record although the team lost to the Indianapolis Colts. In Week 4, a two-touchdown performance against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4 was another milestone.

The highlight of Williams' season was in Week 6 when he threw four TDs in a 36-16 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It led the Bears to their first three-game win streak since 2020.

But the rookie QB's season took a downturn with the Bears' struggles against the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots, where Caleb Williams was sacked 15 times.

Although the season has been turbulent for the Bears, the rookie QB is a bright spot for the team.

Caleb Williams' notable plays in Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams's day got off to a shaky start. In the opening drive, he mishandled a handoff to rookie Rome Odunze on a jet sweep. That resulted in a fumble which was recovered by Detroit's Josh Paschal at the Bears’ 36-yard line.

But in the second quarter, Williams showed flashes of brilliance. After completing a 25-yard pass to D.J. Moore, he scrambled for a first down. Next, he connected with Odunze for a 30-yard gain. Although it did not result in a TD, it helped the Chicago Bears to stay competitive.

Despite the ups and downs, Caleb Williams got his key moment when the rookie connected with veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen for a 45-yard touchdown pass. It capped off a drive that featured a precise 25-yard pass to Moore.

Although the move breathed life into the Chicago offense, it failed to close the gap significantly.

To close the season, the Chicago Bears will face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17 and the Green Bay Packers in Week 18.
