Caleb Williams' video on the sidelines went viral as the Bears took on the Vikings on Monday Night Football in Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season. As has often happened, Chicago was trailing in Minnesota and their quarterback is trying to engineer a comeback. He tried to do so with a pass in a long pass in the second half and took a hit as he released the ball.

After coming off the field, Caleb Williams was seen grimacing and lying down as he tried to overcome getting tackled. But his overall demeanor looked like a person who was struggling. Hall-of-Fame quarterback Troy Aikman was on broadcast duties and he thought the same, commenting,

"He was grimacing in an enormous amount of pain. And as I watch him, you can tell that he's a defeated guy. I mentioned that he hasn't been through anything like this at any point in his career."

Troy Aikman's advice before Bears-Vikings clash should serve as tonic for Caleb Williams

While Troy Aikman called Caleb Williams 'defeated' during the game, he did have some words of wisdom prior to the Bears taking on the Vikings. He reminded,

"My rookie year I was 0-11, the one game we won, I wasn't even the starter. I walked away from a lot of games knowing I didn't play very well, but there were some games that rookie season, where I thought I played well enough for us to win and we were in a position to win, only to lose at the end of the game."

The Hall-of-Fame quarterback added that he had his doubts too but that all changed with a victory in the second year. Addressing Caleb Williams' situation amid what is now an eight-game losing streak, he added,

"I remember walking off the field wondering 'What does it take to win a game in this league?' Fortunately for me, we won the first game of the season in my second year, so I didn't have to carry that around any longer."

Aikman also said that change is not good for a young quarterback but he said that he believed in the Bears quarterback to overcome such challenges, commenting,

"You do hate to see all the change but if the change is good and they bring in people who can develop a quarterback and coordinate an offense, and put him in position to be successful, then the change is good and better days are ahead of him. I think he's too talented, I think that team has potential to be a good football team."

Caleb Williams has to hope that his second season will be better than the first and a serial winner in college will get to experience that winning feeling in the NFL again soon.
