Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have had many losing records and low points in the history of their franchise, and they are in the midst of another one this season. From three straight 12-5 records and two NFC East titles, they are now out of playoff contention and below .500 after much hype. And their biggest divisional rivals are not about to let it slip from their minds.
On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles routed America's Team 41-7 behind a dominant performance by wideout DeVonta Smith, who had 120 yards and scored two touchdowns from six receptions. However, that was far from the biggest highlight of the game.
It was when Eagles fans broke into chants of "Dallas sucks!", mocking owner Jerry Jones for the struggles that his franchise has fallen into since the end of their 1990s dynasty:

Earlier in the day, he had also been the target of this sarcastic comment, as he revealed on 105.3 The Fan:
"Keep doing the job you're doing this year," a fan told Jones.
HC Mike McCarthy, players react to Cowboys clinching first losing record since 2020
The last time the Cowboys had a losing season was in 2020. It was Mike McCarthy's first season as head coach, but his chances of success were greatly hampered when quarterback Dak Prescott broke his foot in Week 5 against the New York Giants.
Fast forward four years later, and McCarthy is facing scrutiny over his future. But after the loss at the Eagles, he remained defiant, telling the press:
“I’m here to finish the race. That’s my mindset, and that's the team’s mindset.”
As for Prescott, his 2024 season ended early when he hurt his hamstring in Week 9 at the Atlanta Falcons. Nevertheless, he watched his team's remaining games. Speaking to the media after Sunday, he called the experience "frustrating":
"Nobody plans to have a losing season, to be in this position. You expect the playoffs every year. You expect to win this division."
He also advocated for the front office to keep McCarthy.
Linebacker Micah Parsons, meanwhile, blamed the litany of injuries on the roster:
"Definitely not what I envisioned. Coming off a devastating playoff loss and you say, 'Hey, I'm just going to get the same team back and we kind of know what it's going to look like.' And you go into the season and devastating injuries across the board. Just can't catch a break."
The Cowboys end their season against the Washington Commanders. Broadcast details will be revealed at the end of the current game week.
