Last Friday, Hall of Famer Randy Moss confirmed reports about his cancer diagnosis and revealed that he underwent surgery for it. The Minnesota Vikings, with whom he spent the first seven seasons of his career, showcased their love for the legendary wide receiver ahead of their game on Monday night against the Chicago Bears.

The team walked out onto the field with franchise icons Cris Carter and Jake Reed hoisting a Vikings jersey with Moss' name on it to show their support for him in his battle with cancer.

Moss saw the tributes and expressed his gratitude to the Vikings on X, writing:

"LUV U ALL! #letsmosscancer."

However, the show of love wasn't limited to the walkout before the game. After catching a seven-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Darnold, wide receiver Justin Jefferson did his iconic 'Griddy' celebration before dedicating it to the Hall of Famer.

He said:

"We love you Randy! That's for you!"

Randy Moss health update: Hall of Famer in recovery

Randy Moss revealed in an Instagram live video that during a procedure unrelated to his diagnosis, doctors found cancer cells in his bile duct, "right between the pancreas and the liver."

He underwent a Whipple procedure, a risky surgery to remove the cells, which went smoothly. However, the Hall of Fame wide receiver needs more treatment. Moss said:

"It's going to be a tough road with some chemo and radiation, but like I said, man, I'm good."

But his life is no longer in danger and he's at home, resting and recuperating with his family by his side. He took an indefinite leave of absence from his job as an analyst on ESPN's NFL Sunday Countdown and isn't expected to return anytime soon.

While Moss recovers, he's enjoying watching the Vikings and his heir Justin Jefferson have an exceptional campaign and will hope they venture deep into the playoffs.
