Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys have a record of 3-4 and entered Sunday's road game against the Atlanta Falcons with a tough matchup ahead. After the first quarter of play, the Cowboys were down 7-3 to the Falcons. In the second quarter, the Cowboys went for the first down on a fourth and one, at Atlanta's 44-yard line.
The idea to call a jet sweep to Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb quickly became a regret. Lamb was stopped by a Falcons defender behind the line of scrimmage which led to Dallas turning the ball over on downs.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy was then seen on the sideline, not happy with what had transpired. McCarthy took the Microsoft Surface Tablet that was in his hand and in anger threw it to the ground.

The live FOX broadcast caught the moment that McCarthy spiked the tablet in anger. The Dallas Cowboys' inability to get a first down then allowed the Atlanta Falcons to go just 36 yards and score a touchdown to take a 14-3 lead.
Dallas was able to score a touchdown in the second quarter and trailed the Atlanta Falcons 14-10 at halftime.
Mike McCarthy explained reason why Ezekiel Elliott was inactive
Veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott was placed on the inactive list this week and didn't make the trip to Atlanta with the rest of the team. Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy was asked by reporters about the decision and confirmed it was a disciplinary issue.
McCarthy told reporters:
“Team discipline situation."
McCarthy then went on to say:
There are things we all have to do in the workplace. That’s what it is.”
Reports have also surfaced that Ezekiel Elliott has been distracted this season and that the running back has been increasingly tardy this season. The running back who returned to the team after spending last season with the New England Patriots, missed Friday's team meeting which was essentially the final straw for McCarthy.
It was reportedly a mutual decision between Mike McCarthy and Ezekiel Elliott that he wouldn't play this week and that he also wouldn't travel to Atlanta.
So far this season, Elliott has played in seven games, but started only twice. He has 48 rushes for 149 yards and two touchdowns, as well as seven catches for 40 yards.
