Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid were anything but happy after NFL officials penalized Xavier Worthy's touchdown celebration against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday. The pair were seen yelling at the referees over the decision.
The Chiefs got off to a good start against the AFC North team after Mahomes found Worthy in the end zone with a seven-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring for the defending back-to-back Super Bowl champions. Worthy celebrated with Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, picking a celebration where he simulated throwing gifts to an invisible bag that Brown carried.
This celebration was penalized for "unsportsmanlike conduct," which prompted a furious reaction from Reid and Mahomes.

It's unclear what was said, but nobody on the Chiefs was happy with the officials. To make things worse, Harrison Butker missed the extra point, failing to extend the lead to 7-0.
They bounced back with a couple of big plays from Mahomes and Justin Watson. The quarterback connected with the wide receiver to score an 11-yard TD pass that extended the Chiefs' lead to 13-0 after Butker's second extra-point attempt was successful.
The Chiefs have been accused of being benefitted by some decisions from officials, but the inconsistent calls appear to be for the entire league and not only Kansas City opponents.
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs are playing their third game in 11 games
The Kansas City Chiefs started this game having already played two games in the last 10 days. Patrick Mahomes and Co. have survived several complicated matchups and own a 14-1 record, but this stretch of the schedule appears to be the hardest for them, especially the Houston Texans and Steelers games.
Nevertheless, ever since the Cleveland Browns game in Week 15, their offense has looked considerably better and the addition of Marquise Brown has helped them become more dangerous on offense. Kansas City will have a much-needed recovery period after this matchup and won't return to the field until Jan. 5.
Should the Chiefs win against the Steelers, it would add even more confidence to a team looking to win a third straight Super Bowl and have only lost one game this season.
