Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley is one of the players to watch in the 2024 NFC championship game between the Eagles and Washington Commanders. The veteran running back is playing his first season with the NFC East franchise, putting on a show and being considered an MVP finalist after becoming the ninth running back in history to run for at least 2,000 yards.

Ahead of the duel against the dangerous Commanders, Barkley was seen sharing a heartwarming sideline moment with his family. He went to high-five his daughter before sharing a smile with his son and girlfriend. They stayed there for a little while, but Barkley didn't eat a cookie his son offered him.

In the end, he did a handshake with his daughter, shook his son's hand and kissed his girlfriend before the start of the NFC championship game.

Saquon Barkley scores against Commanders in first Eagles drive

It seems like the chat with his family before the game had a positive impact on Saquon Barkley. The veteran took off in the Philadelphia Eagles' very first offensive drive of the game, running for 60 yards, avoiding multiple defenders and spinning before finding himself well on his way to the end zone.

Everybody went into a frenzy over this play, with several fans calling him the MVP of the season following yet another stunning display against Washington's defense. If that wasn't enough, Barkley scored a second touchdown in the next drive, extending the lead to 14-3 after Jalen Hurts gave him the ball in 1st-and-goal.

Coincidentally, Barkley has run for two touchdowns every time he faced the Commanders this season. He carried the ball 26 times in their first matchup, scoring twice and running for 146 rushing yards. The next time, even in a painful defeat with a last-gasp touchdown, he carried the ball 29 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
