Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles entered Lincoln Financial Field with a mission: continue their good moment in the 2024 NFL season and advance to the NFC championship game. The veteran running back had a busy first quarter, scoring the touchdown that gave his team the 13-10 lead in the first half.
While completing a 62-yard rushing touchdown, Barkley slowed down to taunt Jared Verse after leaving him behind. Then, the running back Barkley grabbed his crotch to celebrate. This was a fitting celebration for plenty of fans, considering Verse wasn't kind when talking about the Eagles' fanbase.
In an interview with Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times on Thursday, Verse said:

"I hate Eagles fans. They're so annoying. I hate Eagles fans."
Moreover, he said that during the Week 12 showdown, some Eagles fans weren't kind to him.
"I didn't even do nothing to 'em," he said. "It was my first time playing. Oh, I hate Eagles fans. ... When I see that green and white, I hate it. I actually get upset. Like I actually genuinely get hot."
These words rubbed several people off, including Barkley, who had already responded to the Pennsylvania native before facing him on the field.
Saquon Barkley clapped back at Jared Verse's remarks on Eagles
Before he taunted Jared Verse while scoring this touchdown, Saquon Barkley warned him not to provoke Eagles fans or players, especially when you were about to enter their stadium and challenge them.
"Probably not the smartest thing to say when you're coming to Philadelphia," Barkley said on Friday, via ESPN. "I've been on the other side [as a member of the New York Giants] and even if I felt some type of way, I probably wouldn't give them any extra fuel. I'm pretty sure Philly fans have seen that comment. It was already going to be loud and rocking so it's just only going to add to it."
Barkley started the game on a strong note, racking up 11 carries for 94 rushing yards, including a 62-yard TD.
He picked up right where he left off, as Barkley carried the ball 26 times, racking up 255 rushing yards while grabbing four receptions for 47 receiving yards in the Week 12 duel against the Rams.
