Travis Kelce was spotted in attendance for Game 3 of the Western Conference finals, with the Dallas Mavericks hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves. The superstar tight has reportedly been spending time in Texas to train during the NFL offseason with Patrick Mahomes, a Texas native, so they apparently decided to take a break to catch an NBA game.
Like at many games, the celebrities in attendance were displayed on the jumbotron at different points of the game during breaks in the action. When it was Kelce's turn to appear on the big screen, he was met with more boos than cheers from the Mavericks' home crowd. Here's a video of the response:
It's unclear exactly why Travis Kelce was booed by the crowd, but the fact that his brother Jason Kelce is a Philadelphia Eagles legend may have something to do with it. Many fans in the home crowd for the Mavericks are also likely to be fans of the Dallas Cowboys as the two franchises share a home city. The Cowboys and Eagles are bitter rivals, which may have influenced the fans' reaction.

On the other hand, Patrick Mahomes received a roaring cheer from the crowd when he was displayed on the jumbotron. This probably has nothing to do with his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, but more about him being a hometown hero. He grew up in Texas and was a high school sports legend before playing college football with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Mahomes is also an admittedly huge fan of the Mavs and has attended several of their games this year, including during the playoffs. Travis Kelce has no such connection to Dallas, which could potentially explain the crowd's reaction.
Travis Kelce is not a Dallas Mavericks fan
Much like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce's NBA fandom has apparently been dictated by where he grew up. Mahomes has admitted an allegiance to the Dallas Mavericks, which makes sense, considering his Texas roots. Kelce similarly roots for his own hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The star tight end has deep ties to Ohio, where he played his high school athletics career before playing college football for the Cincinnati Bearcats. He was apparently a fan of the local Ohio professional sports teams growing up, including the Cavaliers. He continues to support them, including attending their NBA playoff games this year before the Boston Celtics eliminated them.
