After the news of Deshaun Watson being inactive for the rest of the season following shoulder surgery, former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski recommended that New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones should join the Browns. Gronk thinks that Jones should request a release from the team right now because he has lost the respect of the locker room.
Appearing on Up & Adams, Gronk and Kay Adams discussed Jones' situation in New England as he continues to struggle.
Gronkowski said:
"Mac Jones is not respected in New England," Gronkowski said. "Coach Belichick has played all these games with him. Bailey Zappe isn't even close to being on Jones' level. He won't be a starting quarterback. He's not respected there. I think Jones, ultimately, even right now, should just ask for his release."

"Then, if it's granted, he should go sign with the Cleveland Browns and start a new career there. And there he's got all the weapons around him, and then that would determine if Mac Jones is the real deal or not."
Browns fans didn't take Rob Gronkowski's advice too kindly. Even with Deshaun Watson out for the remainder of the season, Browns fans seem opposed to Mac Jones joining the team.

Beyond Mac Jones speculation, Browns start rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson with Deshaun Watson injured
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Wednesday that rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson would start this Sunday with Deshaun Watson inactive.
This will be Thompson-Robinson's second career start in the NFL. He started against the Baltimore Ravens and completed 19 of 36 for 121 yards and three interceptions.
Thompson-Robinson had a stellar preseason and the Browns are hoping he can replicate that same success as he will start this week.
