"Weapons my a*s!": Mark Schlereth dismisses Lamar Jackson vs Joe Burrow debate on QB under most pressure in 2024

Mark Schlereth dismisses Lamar Jackson vs Joe Burrow debate

Three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth is a man of many words, going by his Stinkin' Truth podcast. This week, the former Broncos guard discussed which quarterback is under the most pressure in 2024.

To some surprise, Schlereth put Lamar Jackson on the hot seat this year.

Schlereth said:

“This is Super Bowl or bust for Lamar Jackson."

Naturally, the Broncos icon's take ruffled some feathers with a number of NFL fans propping up names such as Dak Prescott as the most under-pressure QBs. When one fan suggested that Joe Burrow was under the most pressure owing to his mammoth $275 million contract (that makes him the highest-paid player in the NFL, going by average annual value) and the fact that the Bengals have surrounded him with more talent, Schlereth responded:

"Burrow won a [sic] AFC championship game to go to the Super Bowl while being sacked nine times in that game. Weapons my a*s! Great QBs make wide receivers. It’s not the other way around."

Joe Burrow vs Lamar Jackson set to headline AFC North dogfight on Hard Knocks

The Ravens' schedule is an intriguing one in 2024. They will face the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in their season opener, followed by a Week 2 game against the Raiders, Week 3 at the Dallas Cowboys, Week 4 vs the Buffalo Bills, and Week 5 at the Cincinnati Bengals.

The schedule gets a little easier from there but their early games could prove to be dogfights for the Ravens as they chase the league's best record once again this year.

The Ravens will once again face the Bengals in Week 10, this time at home, and you can be sure there will be cameras following both Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow around all night long.

Hard Knocks will cover the AFC North this season, the first time they've chosen a division. Alongside Russell Wilson's Steelers and Deshaun Watson's Browns, we're in for a pretty electric season of Hard Knocks in 2024.
