The 2023 NFL Draft order will be determined by the final standings at the conclusion of the 2022 NFL season. Teams always make their draft selections in reverse order from where they finished during the prior season. This means the team with the worst overall record will be able to pick at the top of the 2023 NFL Draft, while the Super Bowl champions will pick last.
While this is the standard for the draft order to be determined, not every team currently holds all of their own draft picks. Trades are the most common way for teams to not have a selection as they can send them to other teams in exchange for other picks or players. This also means that some teams will pick multiple times in a certain round, while others may not pick at all.
The order of the 2023 NFL Draft can change each week of the 2022 NFL season based on the results of all of the games being played. Here's what the current draft order of the first round looks like at the halfway point of the season following all of Sunday's action from Week 9.
