Drew Lock might have helped his team, the New York Giants, to a high-scoring 45-33 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. With the win, their record improved to 3-13. In normal circumstances, that would be a good thing, but not if you're the Giants.
Walking into the Colts game, the Giants controlled the first pick in the 2025 NFL draft. They had been struggling to find a franchise QB and had hoped that with the first pick in hand, they would draft Shedeur Sanders, the breakout Colorado Buffaloes QB.
However, with Sunday's win, the Giants slipped to third position in the draft order. Drew Lock was at his absolute best, securing five touchdowns to his name. After the game, he said that New York cared about winning games and not the draft order.

But apparently fans did. They wanted the team to lose and tank the season so that they could bag Sanders, who could finally be the answer to their QB woes.
Giants fans flamed Drew Lock on X (formerly, Twitter) for winning the game.
One fan hurled abuse at him for not caring about the draft order and winning the game when a defeat would've been more beneficial to the team's future.
"What a dumba**."
Another fan gave up hope in the Giants.
"I’m done as a Giants fan."
Others chimed in with their reactions to the win and Drew Lock's comment.
"Bro just set the Giants franchise back 5 more years," one fan alleged.
"He's on a one year deal, so if he wants, he can just sign with whoever gets it," another fan posted.
"Every Giants fan does. Every Giants fan cares zero about Drew Lock" one fan said.
"Brotha just made himself enemy number 1 in NY," another commented.
Drew Lock helped Giants end franchise record
The Giants were on a franchise-worst 10-game losing streak. If that wasn't enough, the team had also lost all of its home games this season.
But on Sunday, Lock and rookie wideout Malik Nabers ended the streak. While Lock bagged five touchdowns, Nabers crossed the important milestone of 1,000 receiving yards.
While New York had the No. 1 pick, the New England Patriots (3-13) and the Tennessee Titans (3-13) currently have the first and second picks in the upcoming draft.
