Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was involved in a car accident in Charlotte on Tuesday. In the car were his wife, their three children, and their dog.
Per the Panthers' official X account, none of the family members required emergency transportation from the scene of the accident to the hospital. Dalton was being evaluated by team medical personnel.
A team spokesperson told MLFootball that Dalton was heading westbound on Sardis Road approaching Providence Road when the accident occurred.

Police officers did not divulge publicly the severity of the crash, how it happened, or how many other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Dalton is a 14-year veteran and has been selected to the Pro Bowl thrice. He had been designated as the Panthers' starting QB in Week 3 after they benched the No. 1 pick in 2023, Bryce Young.
Bryce Young only other quarterback on Carolina Panthers besides Andy Dalton
After a 2-15 2023 season, Bryce Young had another terrible start this year. In his first two games, he completed just 55% of his passes for 245 yards, with no touchdowns, three interceptions, and six sacks.
The Panthers turned to Andy Dalton as the starter, but he hasn't had much success either.
Dalton had signed with the Panthers in 2023 with the main goal of serving as a backup to the then-rookie Bryce Young.
He managed to help the team get their only win this season over the Las Vegas Raiders, but he then oversaw the team's blowout 40-7 loss to the Washington Commanders.
In six appearances (five starts) this season, Dalton has completed 66% of his passes for 989 yards, with seven touchdowns and six interceptions.
Although the team hasn't released a statement yet, if Andy Dalton has to miss games to recover, Bryce Young could be back on the gridiron to replace him in the team's outing against the Denver Broncos. The Panthers currently do not have a third quarterback on their roster.
The Panthers have a record of just 1-6 so far this season and are bottom of the NFC South.
