Cleveland Browns defensive star Myles Garrett took a hit to the face in the first half against the Kansas City Chiefs. While trying to get close to Patrick Mahomes, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year was met by left tackle Joe Thuney, who stopped him but the aftermath of the play raised plenty of eyebrows around the league.

Right after he clashed with Thuney, Garrett took off his helmet and fell to the ground before medical staff entered the field to assist him. He was initially tagged as questionable to return but made it back to the field with a visor on his helmet.

The Browns entered halftime down 14-0 and they could have lost Myles Garrett for the rest of the game.

This game wouldn't have a major impact on the Browns season, but trying to compete against the defending champions always gives extra motivation to opponents, even if they are eliminated from playoff contention. Garrett didn't have the best game of all, as he only recorded one total tackle in three quarters, with the Chiefs dominating the Browns.

Myles Garrett shares his thoughts on Browns' disconnection this season

After a surprising 2023 NFL season where they posted an 11-6 record despite losing both Nick Chubb and Deshaun Watson to season-ending injuries, the Browns stayed together and were resilient, ultimately advancing to the playoffs. The situation has been completely different this season, as they're about to drop to 3-11.

Earlier this week, Garrett talked about the team's season, saying that there's a disconnection within the franchise.

“As far as team-wise, no, I don’t think we’ve been on the same pages," Garrett said. "So that’s probably been a majority of the dysfunction that we’ve seen on the field. Organizationally, I mean, the goals have aligned all season. Just the play and execution has not."

The Browns were expected to be much better than they were in these 15 weeks and perhaps the offseason could force the front office to make some changes.
