The NFL has dropped the list of The Associated Press (AP) Most Valuable Player of the Year for the 2024 season. The list includes Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Lamar Jackson.

Around 50 NFL journalists will now vote for the players, and the winner will finally be announced on Feb. 6 at the NFL Honors. The NFL's X account posted the list on Thursday.

Fans on X enquired about the players on the list in the comment section. One fan was disappointed to see Goff among the AP MVP finalists.

"Goff over Daniels is a generational blunder," a fan tweeted.

Meanwhile, one called it a tough choice to pick among the five.

One fan supported Lamar Jackson while others supported Josh Allen.

"Lamar should be listed first - being that he’s going to win MVP," another fan tweeted.

"Josh Allen is going to win MVP! #BillsMafia," one fan tweeted.

"Sorry to say but I’ve got my money on Josh … still love you Lamar," another fan tweeted.

Who are the finalists for the AP NFL Awards?

The AP NFL Awards recognize players and coaches across eight categories. In addition to the MVP Award, several other categories have been announced. Five have been nominated for the MVP Award, including Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff and Lamar Jackson.

Intriguingly, Burrow is nominated for the Comeback Player of the Year award, along with Sam Darnold, J.K. Dobbins, Christian Gonzalez and Damar Hamlin. Meanwhile, Barkley, Burrow and Jackson are listed in the Offensive Player of the Year award alongside Ja'Marr Chase and Derrick Henry.

Dan Campbell, Kevin O'Connell, Sean Payton, Dan Quinn and Andy Reid are The Coach of the Year award finalists. Meanwhile, Joe Brady, Vic Fangio, Brian Flores, Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson are the Assistant Coach of the Year award nominees.

Zach Baun, Myles Garrett, Trey Hendrickson, Patrick Surtain II and T.J. Watt are the Defensive Player of the Year award nominees.

There are two category nominations for the Rookie of the Year award. For Defensive Rookie of the Year, Cooper DeJean, Braden Fiske, Quinton Mitchell, Chop Robinson and Jared Verse are nominated. Meanwhile, Brock Bowers, Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, Bo Nix, and Brian Thomas Jr. are listed in the Offensive Rookie of the Year category.
