What did Joe Mixon's sister do? Bengals RB's sibling Shalonda turns herself in to Hamilton County Jail

Earlier this month, Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Mixon was embroiled in a shooting case at his house. As the case progressed, his sister Shalonda got involved in the situation. As per a recent update, Shalonda turned herself in to the Hamilton County Jail.

TMZ Sports confirmed the news, reporting that she made the decision on Thursday at 6:54 PM, after she was charged for the shooting. She spent the night at the Hamilton County Jail.

At her arraignment hearing on Friday, she pleaded not guilty to all charges. The charges included one count of obstruction of justice and one count of tampering with evidence.

As of now, reports added that Shalonda's boyfriend Lamonte Brewer shot a teenager who was playing with his Nerf gun in Mixon's backyard. Shalonda has been accused of covering up the shooting, which occurred on March 6. She apparently tried to hide the shell casings before leaving the scene with Brewer.

Mixon, whose house was used, hasn't been charged. As per prosecutors, Mixon won't face charges if he is not involved and did not commit a crime.

Considering her obstruction of justice, Joe Mixon's sister could face around four years behind bars if she is convicted. Her boyfriend was also charged with felony assault and could face 20 years in prison if found guilty.

Mixon is yet to comment publicly on the situation.

However, his agent Peter Schaffer added that Mixon and his family have been 'fearful' after receiving death threats.

Furthermore, Shalonda's arraignment lasted for under a minute.

"This is case number B2301142-B, Shalonda Marie Mixon," a court official added. "She's been indicted on one count of tampering with evidence and one count obstructing justice. Have you received a copy of your indictment?"

The prosecutor also shared an image of a security camera, which placed Brewer at the scene, firing the weapon. Another image captured Shalonda Mixon cleaning up the shell casings.
