Chubb was drafted by the Browns in 2018, selecting him as the 35th overall pick of the 2018 NFL draft. He signed a four-year/ $7,383,095 rookie deal, which is standard for a second-round selection. The former Georgia Bulldog proved worth his paycheck, as he totaled over 4,000 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns in his first four seasons with the Browns.

Before the expiration of his rookie deal, he was signed to a three-year / $36.6 million contract extension, making him one of the best-paid backs in the NFL. Nick Chubb is the third best-paid running back in the NFL, the fifth best-paid player on the Cleveland Browns roster, and the 83rd best-paid player in the league.

Nick Chubb's NFL career stats

Chubb came into the NFL with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. He was always seen as a stud in high school and college, so it was a surprise when he wasn't picked in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft but rather in the second round. As such, he had a bone to pick with franchises that ignored him.

His first season saw him take up the RB1 role for the Browns. He rushed the ball 192 times, had 996 running yards, and put up eight touchdowns in 16 games. His second season was even better, as Chubb took more responsibilities in the Browns' run-heavy offense. He put up a majestic stat line of 298 rush attempts, 1,494 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.

The rest of his NFL career has followed a similar trajectory. Chubb is one of the few RBs that can assure you 1,000 plus rushing yards each season and almost ten touchdowns to boost.

Chubb had arguably his best individual season in 2022, where he put up a stat line of 302 rush attempts (career-high), 1,525 (also a career-high) and 12 rushing touchdowns (career-high) in 17 games. So, as scary as it sounds, the NFL has not seen the best Nick Chubb has to offer.
