Last week, Travis Kelce's rumored new girlfriend Taylor Swift became the NFL's hottest topic when she was seen at the MetLife Stadium for the Kansas City Chefs' defeat of the New York Jets.

The pop star first made her presence felt when she was seen in the stands of Arrowhead as the defending Super Bowl champions hosted the Chicago Bears. But the rumors surrounding her and the tight end intensified only when TMZ spotted them together at the afterparty.

And while many, including the league itself, have been supportive, actress Olivia Wilde is decidedly not one of them. In an Instagram story, she said:

“I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist.”

The latest on Travis Kelce's injury

Taylor Swift's absence did not deter the Kansas City Chiefs as they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 27-20, thanks to a pair of third-quarter touchdown passes from Patrick Mahomes.

One of them was to Travis Kelce, but before that, there was a scary second-quarter moment wherein he fell after catching a pass. He was found to have hurt his right leg but eventually returned to the field:

In fact, Mahomes would later praise his tight end for fighting through the pain. He said (via ESPN):

"I feel like Travis had the same mindset as I do. If you give him the window of he can get back in the game, he's going to be back in the game. That's why he's one of the greatest is that he will battle through stuff like that and came back and made a lot of great catches for us."

But concerns are still lingering, especially with the Chiefs' Week 6 game coming very early — against the Denver Broncos on Thursday, October 12.

Kelce did not attend Monday's practice sessions as he continues to heal his leg. A clearer update on his status is expected for tomorrow's practice.
