Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a strange announcement last week. He said that following the Super Bowl, he will go on a four-day 'darkness retreat' before making a decision regarding his future.
While many chastised Rodgers for it, Tom Brady defended him. The seven-time Super Bowl champion believes that everyone deals with things differently, and he wants Rodgers to continue playing football.
Here's what Tom Brady said in the "Let's Go!" podcast about Aaron Rodgers' 'darkness retreat':

"I hope he doesn't retire because like I said, I think the league needs good quarterbacks and he's one of the greats. So if he retires, it'd be a sad day for the league. He's an incredible player, and everyone has their different processes they go through."
Brady continued:
"You know what, I think we all need to get off our phone a little bit more, I think we all need to get away from the TV a little bit more, I think we all need a little more nature and a little more silence and a little more peace and wherever he's going about it good for him."
Rodgers has already stated that he could play at an MVP level once again if the situation around him is right. It would be shocking if the Green Bay Packers quarterback ends up retiring ahead of next season.
Since Tom Brady is retired, he doesn't want more elite quarterbacks to leave the game. Rodgers is certainly one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game and it would be sad to lose him.
Aaron Rodgers is expected to leave Green Bay Packers
Although he may not end up retiring, there is a very high possibility that Aaron Rodgers will be traded by the Packers. Teams like the New York Jets and the Las Vegas Raiders are heavily interested in the Packers quarterback and we could see the four-time NFL MVP playing in the AFC next season.
Rodgers will certainly elevate both those teams and could make them contenders, but the AFC is heavily stacked with great young quarterbacks. He may be successful with the New York Jets or Las Vegas Raiders, but winning a Super Bowl will be extremely difficult.
Aaron Rodgers finished the 2022/2023 NFL season with a passer rating of 91.1 for 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 17 games.
