This will be the Jacksonville Jaguars' first playoff appearance since the 2017 season. Head coach Doug Marrone and his team finished with a 10-6 record to win the AFC South division title for the third time in franchise history. They ended a 10-year playoff drought for the franchise before shocking the world in the playoffs.

The 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars, led by quarterback Blake Bortles, began their journey in the 2018 playoffs with a 10-3 win over the Buffalo Bills. They then went to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in the divisional round, where many expected them to fall to Ben Roethlisberger and co.

However, the Jaguars pulled off an unbelievable 45-42 win to upset the Steelers and headed to Foxborough to take on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Like their game against the Steelers, the Jaguars had the AFC heavyweights on the ropes and led by 10 in the fourth quarter. However, their fairytale run soon became a footnote on Brady's list of improbable comebacks. The Patriots scored 14 unanswered points to win the game and head to the Super Bowl for the second straight season. They would eventually lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in a high-scoring thriller.

The Jaguars failed to build on their incredible run and finished with a dismal 5-11 record in the 2018 season. 2019 wasn't much better, as they finished with a 6-10 record. The 1-15 season in 2020 led to head coach Doug Marrone being relieved of his duties.

The team hired Urban Meyer to mentor the team's first-overall pick Trevor Lawrence. However, the head coach was fired midway through a tumultuous season, opening the door for Doug Peterson to take over. He has now led the Jaguars into the playoffs in his first season with the team.
