Three names to track ahead of the NFL trade deadline
Every year a crop of top-notch players test free agency to find greener pastures. The 2023 NFL season is no different, as a crop of stellar talent will be eager to test the waters of free agency. Here are three of our juiciest picks.
#3 David Bakhtiari, LT, Green Bay Packers
There have been whispers that the New York Jets could have some interest in trading for Aaron Rodgers' former teammate.
While that speculation appears to have been birthed on the Up and Adams Show, the Packers have since come out and responded to the situation, saying that Bakhtiari is off-limits this year.
#2 Zach Ertz, TE, Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals don't seem to retain any interest in being competitive this year, with Kyler Murray almost certain to sit out the first four weeks of the season.
As such, as one of the few A-list players on the Cardinals roster for the season, the former Eagles great could possibly be traded to a contender.
The Cardinals will be on track to save $9 million by finding a trade partner for Ertz. However, the star tight end is entering Year 11, which could give some teams pause when it comes to trading for him.
#1 Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have officially given Taylor permission to seek a trade. While there has been considerable interest in him, most of that interest is seemingly coming from the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins, who have Raheem Mostert pencilled in as the starter heading into Week 1, were also in on the Dalvin Cook sweepstakes.
The former Vikings playmaker ultimately landed on Aaron Rodgers' Jets, forcing the Dolphins to turn their attention elsewhere.
