Tom Brady won seven Super Bowl titles in his 23-season NFL career. Since sports had been an integral part of his life, he likely expected his three children would follow in his footsteps.

In Sept. 2019, during an interview with "Men's Health" magazine, Brady revealed that while his oldest son Jack loved sports, his son Benjamin didn't feel the same way. He recalled a conversation he had with then-wife Gisele Bundchen where he realized he would have to bond over something else with his son since sports wasn't a common interest.

“Gisele kept saying to me, ‘Would you effing understand that your son is different?' It was hard for me. I was like, ‘What do you mean? He’s a boy; he should do all these things that I do.’ The reality is that Benny just likes different things," Brady said.
"And it’s great because now I just have to go do what he wants to do. When we do that, we have the best time. He’s like, ‘OMG, Dad, you’re so funny.’ He loves joking, and I joke back.”

Tom Brady revealed that son Benjamin found interest in football

While Tom Brady revealed in 2019 that his son Benjamin didn't have much interest in football, in December 2023, Brady revealed on the "Let's Go" podcast that Benjamin said he had decided to give football a try, but he didn't want to play quarterback like his future Hall of Famer dad.

Brady revealed that Ben decided on playing tight end and wanted to be just like Rob Gronkowski.

"He's an amazing kid and he's got a lot of talents. He's a really talented musician and artist. And then he told me this year, 'Dad, I'm playing football.' And I was like, 'What do you wanna play?' And he was like, 'Tight end. I wanna be like Gronk!'" Brady said on the "Let's Go!" podcast.

Tom Brady mentioned that his kid was a talented musician and artist, and he was surprised to learn that he wanted to play football. Brady also said that throwing the football around with his son was helping him in the early days of his NFL retirement.
