When will Aaron Rodgers clarify Packers future? Green Bay put timeline on former MVP

It's a mystery what Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is going to do in 2023. The quarterback is rumored to be on the trade block, but he could decide to return to the team or retire.

Rodgers has flirted with retirement numerous times in the last two years, and it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he walks away from the game this year. He also said that he wanted to be traded this offseason with many suitors interested in him.

According to the team, Rodgers is expected to make a decision on his future before the start of free agency. If traded, the move would clear up $60 million in cap space for the Packers in 2023.

Free agency will begin on March 15, which is just a little over a month from today. A decision on his future could come much sooner though.

While reports came out today stating that Rodgers will decide his future before the start of free agency, a decision could come much sooner.

On "The Pat McAfee Show" earlier this week, Rodgers said that he's going to go on a complete darkness retreat in isolation by himself. This will help him clear his mind and help out with his decision.

"Well, I'm still in the art of contemplation about my future, "Rodgers said. "And that's why I think it's gonna be important to get through this week, and then, you know, to take my isolation retreat, and just to be able to contemplate all things, my future and then make a decision that I feel like is best for me, moving forward and the highest interest of my happiness and then move forward.

"So it's four nights of complete darkness. But it's a darkness retreat, and I've had, you know, a number of friends who've done it and had some profound experiences. And it's something that's been on my radar for a few years now. And I felt like it'd be awesome to do regardless of where I was leaning after this season."

If Rodgers were to decide on retiring, he would retire the same year as Tom Brady and the two would join each other in Canton, Ohio, as Hall of Fame members in the same year.
