Throughout the last few years, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has revealed some shocking rituals and adventures that he has had. Before the start of the 2022 NFL season, he spoke about his use of the psychodelic Ayahuasca, which helped him on his spiritual journey.
Just a few weeks ago, while making his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," he spoke about his intentions of entering a darkness retreat. Rodgers said that the four-day retreat (where he would be disconnected from the outside world) was something that he had been looking forward to for a while.
ESPN's Xuan Thai released an article on Thursday that dove into the details of the darkness retreat named Sky Cave, which is located in southern Oregon. Thai was also informed by Sky Cave's owner Scott Berman that the Packers quarterback completed his retreat on Wednesday.

Berman described Rodgers' accommodation as a 300 square foot room that is partially built underground. It features a queen-sized bed, bathroom and a meditation mat. While the room is completely dark, it is fully equipped with electricity if light is needed. Berman also said that he delivers a day's worth of meals through a window in the door. He said that during that time, guests have the opportunity to talk if they choose to do so:
"I am able to have a little window into what's going on. And sometimes it might be a 10-second conversation and sometimes it might be 20 minutes."
The Sky Cave rooms are currently booked 18 months in advance and there is a waiting list. The popularity of the dark retreat has Sky Cave planning for seven additional dark rooms that will be built on the property in the near future.
How much money will Aaron Rodgers make if he doesn't retire in 2023?
Many have speculated that Aaron Rodgers has decided to enter the dark retreat to contemplate his retirement. The 39 year old said that he wanted to use the four days to really focus on his entire life and not just football.
If Aaron Rodgers decides to continue playing in 2023, he will make $59,465,000 in guaranteed money.
If he does decide to continue playing, there is also speculation that the Packers might trade him and move forward with Jordan Love. This would be similar to how Brett Favre ended his tenure in Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers became the starter.
