Where is Shannon Sharpe? Why was he not on 'Undisputed' today?

Hall of Fame tight end was noticeably missing from Tuesday's broadcast of "Undisputed".

NFL Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe was absent from Tuesday's broadcast of "Undisputed" on Fox Sports. When the show opened, his co-host Skip Bayless stated that he wasn't sure if he wanted to do the show today and then briefly said that his co-host would be back tomorrow.

His absence comes just hours after Bayless tweeted insensitive comments about Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. While he tried to apologize on social media as well as during the opening of the show, many didn't believe his sincerity.

Viewers were left wondering, is Sharpe missing for two reasons? The first being that he just wasn't in the mindset to talk about Hamlin's medical emergency? Being a former player himself, the game could have shaken him and left him unable to broadcast on Tuesday morning. The second reason could be that he too is fed up with Bayless. Sharpe never agreed with his co-host, and Bayless, who is known for going too far, may have taken it even further with the comments he displayed.

Sharpe hasn't stated his reason for not appearing on Tuesday's show, as of yet. The last tweet that he wrote was last night when he sent prayers to Damar Hamlin and his family and wrote that the National Football League doesn't have a "manual" on how to handle this type of situation.

"Please keep Demar Hamlin and his family in your thoughts and prayers. NFL doesn’t have a manual on how to proceed after an incident like this."

Shannon Sharpe was on Monday's broadcast of "Undisputed", and there was no mention of him planning to miss Tuesday's show. For now, viewers will have to wait and see if the Super Bowl Champion returns to his co-hosting duties on Wednesday morning.

How long has Shannon Sharpe co-hosted 'Undisputed'?

After retiring from the National Football League in 2003, the former tight end entered into a broadcast career. He was first hired by CBS Sports to be an analyst on "The NFL Today" pre-game show. In 2014, CBS Sports parted ways with their analysts to revamp the show and add new faces to the desk.

In 2016, he was hired by FS1 to co-host "Undisputed with Shannon and Skip" where he was paired up with Skip Bayless. On the show, the two have constant arguments about their differences in teams and players that they support.

In addition to "Undisputed," he also hosts his "Club Shay Shay" podcast where he interviews athletes.
