The Jets picked Zach Wilson second overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played college football for BYU, where he twice won the MVP award in a bowl game. Wilson completed 26 of 34 throws for 425 yards and three touchdowns in the 49-23 victory over UCF, earning him the offensive MVP of the 2020 Boca Raton Bowl.
In July 2021, he agreed to a four-year contract with a $35.15 million guaranteed salary value that also included a $22.9 million sign-up bonus and a fifth-year possibility.
